The Castle of Gerald the Devil in Gent Belgium is an austere looking building located near St. Bavo's Cathedral. The castle was built in the 13th century and has been used for multiple purposes include a knight's residence, a monastery, an orphanage, a prison and even an insane asylum.
The Castle of Gerald the Devil is called Geeraard de Duilvelsteen in Flemish and Chateau de Gerald le Diable in French.
